12/28/2022 0 Comments Tekken advance combos![]() Neither story mode, nor Tekken Force nor more varied extra modes that allow us to extend the useful life a little when we play alone: Tekken 3D does many things well, but then it wastes them by not offering enough content to show them off. ![]() You have at your disposal a Practice mode to train the movements of the fighters, the Quick Battle mode, with ten phases and which would become the Arcade of a lifetime, and the Special Survival mode, in which you face a series ( 5, 10, 20 or 40) from opponents with a single health bar that recovers slightly after each fight. The offer at the individual level can at least be described as scarce. However, things are starting to go wrong when it comes to game modes. The price to pay are some attractive scenarios but that sin of a certain simplicity, although at least the characters and their animations have not lost so much detail in their passage to the Nintendo laptop.Īt this point, Tekken 3D proves to be able to keep up with the rest of the fighting games available for 3DS, and even surpass them in many aspects. It is a remarkable technical achievement that has an important playable implication, because the rhythm and mechanics of Tekken fights have always demanded a very precise response to execute the blows and counterattacks. Tekken 3D moves at a very fluid 60 frames per second with no slowdowns and, unlike Dead or Alive Dimensions, it does not have any type of penalty when 3D is activated. On a technical level, Arika’s work is also worthy of applause, although with nuances. As a solution, four shortcuts have been implemented on the touch screen (they can also be used by simultaneously pressing a trigger and the corresponding button) that we can configure with most of the combinations of our choice, largely mitigating the problem. Although in general terms the control is more than satisfactory, the small size of the d-pad and the 3DS buttons makes it uncomfortable to perform certain movements, and using the analog stick is not totally effective either (especially if there are diagonals in between). ![]() It’s a shame that Nintendo’s own hardware limitations play a bit against that effort. With an impressive roster of forty-one characters, the vast majority taken directly from Tekken 6, and all playable mechanics practically intact, Tekken 3D Prime retains the depth and fluidity that has always characterized the saga, with a combat system with a strong personality, a great range of options to carry out combos and a challenging AI in the medium / high difficulty modes. ![]() Yes, Namco already made a first attempt a decade ago with the disappointing Tekken Advance, but it is a franchise traditionally tied to Sony machines.Ī few games show that the Arika studio (responsible for the Street Fighter EX and the 3D Classics of the eShop) has successfully transferred the essence of the saga to 3DS. Playing the last of them, Tekken, on a Nintendo console is also a strange feeling. It is curious that with just one year of life the 3DS catalog has already received several fighting games of notable invoice, especially taking into account the anecdotal presence of the genre in its predecessor.
